TECHNICAL SPECS
We need to start with your original color retouched digital file that has been approved. If the file is already b&w, we can still use it. We require a minimal file size of 300ppi @ 100% the file size. A higher resolution will also work just fine. The HelioDot-SR conversion is delivered in Grey Scale mode with a minimum of 300 ppi resolution. Each file is adjusted for newsprint reproduction with maximum level of the Black plate at 91%. If you want your HelioDot-SR for magazine reproduction, we will provide the file adjusted for magazine reproduction. Because we supply the converted file to you as a continuous tone b&w EPS file, any size line screen can be applied upon output. The HelioDot-SR has a useable size range down to 65% and up to 140% of the file size.

HELIODOT-SR
The HelioDot-SR Line Conversion is a technique that will make your images look sharp and ensure that all of the detail and type will be clean and legible - no matter where it is being reproduced.
By using the HelioDot-SR technique over the standard halftone, you are purchasing a line conversion that is custom-made to suit whatever media you are using. Unlike a regular halftone, the HelioDot-SR line conversion has clean, sharp lines that define all edges, gets the type clean and helps separate the tones to give you the best possible clarity in reproduction. Also, the HelioDot-SR gives you the opportunity to reuse the same conversion many times over. You can produce a 100 line screen newspaper ad followed by an 85 line screen newspaper ad followed by a 150 line screen magazine ad and yet only pay for one conversion.
The HelioDot-SR conversion works on any subject and is especially good for use on products that have a lot of type or that are going to be used at smaller sizes. Specifically, packaging of any descriptionbottles, cans, card packaged items, cars, mowers, TVs, computers, gardening equipment, watches and jewelry - the list could go on and on.
A HelioDot-SR can be used on any surface from newsprint to corrugated cartons. Your HelioDot-SR conversion will be custom-built to suit the reproduction needs of your printer; you can be assured that you will get the best possible reproduction on whatever printing process is used.
