We need to start with your original color retouched digital file that has been approved. If your file is already b/w, it will work just fine. We require a minimal file size of 300 ppi @ 100% the file size. A higher resolution will also work just fine. The HelioLine Drawing conversion is delivered in bitmap mode with a minimum of 900 ppi resolution. Each file is adjusted for newsprint reproduction with maximum level of the black plate at 91%. If you want your HelioLineDraw for magazine, packaging or another substrate reproduction, we will provide the file with profiles adjusted accordingly. Because we supply the file to you as a b/w bitmapped file, it is supplied in line screens 55 lpi to 100 lpi. The HelioLine Drawing has a useable size range down to 85% and up to 115% of the file size.

If youre looking for an illustrative feel that resembles old lithographs and etchings, the HelioLine Drawing conversion is the perfect choice for your images. It is a technique that is inexpensive, consistent and quickly achieved, while at the same time giving your images a very distinct look. Look through the samples to see for yourself.
Over the years, some of the most widely used subjects for this technique have proven to be people's portraits (corporate, medical, annuals), as well as images of buildings, statues and panoramas.
Keep in mind that this conversion technique is created to look great when printed and the digital samples shown here cannot appear as sharp and as detailed due to the large difference in the two media.
